    DESCRIPTION
    Dispensing service is considered by many as the primary function of the Pharmacy. Dispensing pharmacists have expertise in pharmacology, pathophysiology, therapeutics, patient care, and basic communication skills.

  • CLINICAL PHARMACY SERVICES
    DESCRIPTION

    A health science discipline in which pharmacists provide patient care optimizes medication therapy and promotes health, wellness, and disease prevention.

    This practice's principle is patient- centered care combined with the safe and rational use of drugs/medicines in the clinical setting.

  • COMPOUNDING SERVICE/ONCOLOGY PHARMACY
    SERVICES OFFERED

    This Service refers to medication preparation, special dosage forms and formulations not available in the market. It requires an adequate understanding of the principles involved in preparing the medications in special dosage forms.

    Compounding Service of the pharmacy entails the concept of biopharmaceuticals, bioavailability, bioequivalence, stability, microbiology, and medication administration techniques. In the case of intravenous (IV) Nutrition (TPN), the pharmacist must be familiar with patient variables such as electrolyte and fluid balance, and other factors such as personal hygiene, environmental control, and equipment performance.

  • TRAINING SERVICE
    DESCRIPTION

    Training service refers to the training of new personnel continuous education programs for the staff. This service extends to students.

    Part of the BMC Pharmacy training service is drug product updates shared with other health professionals. It is the service of the hospital pharmacy in which training activities for the pharmacy interns are formulated and implemented.

  • RESEARCH
    DESCRIPTION
    This refers to clinical researches done by BMC Pharmacy medical staff. 

     

    The Department equips its pharmacist with appropriate training in research methodology. Pharmacists' ability in proper data collection, interpretation, and transmission of reports is enhanced by doing research.

  • ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE
    DESCRIPTION

    This service pertains to compliance with the regulatory requirements of the pharmacy. It also includes pharmaceutical cost planning, budgeting, and inventory management, preparation of reports, financial management, and records maintenance. It is the Pharmacist IV's responsibility to address the needs of the hospital pharmacy, including supplies, materials, and other resources.
