Serrano shared the hospital's Performance Governance System (PGS) - Compliance Stage best practices to Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, headed by Dr. Emmanuel F. Montaña. The best practices that were shared include the institutionalization of the OSM, Cascading Process, and the formalization of the BMC - Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC).
NAGA CITY, BICOL - A second-year Resident of the BMC Department of Ear, Nose & Throat-Head & Neck Surgery brought honor to her department and the Bicol Medical Center by winning first place in the Annual National Interesting Case Contest of the Philippine Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (PSO-HNS). Dr. Kathleen Yambot presented her case, "Multifocal Tuberculosis in a 3-year-old Male presenting as Mandibular Swelling," beating the other entries from 35 training institutions of PSO-HNS.
The healthcare workers and staff of the Bicol Medical Center honored a deceased 36-year-old female and her family for donating her kidneys last May 26, 2022, at the Bicol Medical Center. The family's act of generosity through deceased organ donation has saved two lives.
By 2026, the Bicol Medical Center will have 14 Specialty Centers, one of which is the Geriatric Center. The hospital management has targeted that said center will be set up by 2024. And as an initial step, BMC launches its Geriatric Clinic today, May 26, 2022, in the Outpatient Department.
