Why do we celebrate World Blood Donor Day? Blood donors are not just blood donors, they are called heroes. They are the modern heroes that have been the life-saver of so many patients, which are mostly women.
In connection with the WHO theme for the WBDD campaign this year “Safe blood for saving mothers”, the Bicol Medical Center Blood Bank will be leading a mobile blood donation bringing together the Local Government of Tinambac, Camarines Sur entitled with “Dugo ko, Buhay ko”. The said event will be held on June 14, 2014 at the Tinambac Sports Complex.
The event will be started with a fun walk at 6 o’clock in the morning and this would be followed by a programme. All the officials of the local government of Tinambac and the Municipal Mayor from the different LGU of 4th district are all in. Of course, there will be the recognition of the barangay who has the highest number of donors in 2013. The Blood Olympics thereafter will follow.
Everyone is invited for those who desired to partake and to be a blood donor. Let us all chip in to “Dugo ko, Buhay ko” in commemoration with the World Blood Donor Day campaign.
